Daffodowndilly's Peachtober Drawings 2025

Becky Woolley

This year I will mostly be working to the Peachtober prompt list by Sha'an d'Anthes from Furry Little Peach .

Peachtober and Inktober in general is such a lovely way to try new things, practice and just have fun and not take anything too seriously.

Here is the prompt list I'll be working from this year:

Day 2 - Kite

A late entry to #peachtober25 's day 2 prompt of kite! I loved flying a kite so much as a child and teen, might have to revisit! #peachtober25kite

Day 3 - Slug

Day 3 of #peachtober25 - Slug. So I've chosen a rainbow sea slug, one of which has recently been spotted in a Falmouth rock pool! #peachtober25slug

Day 5 - Poppy

Day 5 of #peachtober25 - Poppy. I've gone with one of my favourites, the Welsh Poppy. #peachtober25poppy

Day 6 - Ring

Day 6 of #peachtober25 - ring. So I've gone for a fairy ring of mushroom/fungi. I've seen a few already this Autumn and it is always a lovely surprise to come upon! #peachtober25ring

Day 8 - Leaf

Day 8 of #peachtober25 - Leaf. I decided to do my favourite type of leaf which is an oak leaf. I felt it looked a bit bare so I looked up if there were any insects or butterflies that were associated with oaks and the Purple Hairstreak Butterfly came up! It looks a very Halloween appropriate butterfly and I've drawn a female which has these very pretty purple streaks on her wings.

Apparently a single oak tree can support a whole colony of these butterflies!

I've gone for an Autumnal leaf colour but this was a bit of artistic licence as the adult butterflies are mainly around during July, August and September. #peachtober25leaf
